A New Chapter for a Classic Home (Pine River)

This classic Charlevoix home overlooks Pine River and had the plenty of Northern Michigan Cottage charm. Our goal was to honor its original charm while opening it up for the way people live today. With a thoughtful restoration and a well-integrated addition, we were able to give this house a fresh start—without erasing what made it special.

A small but impactful part of the project was creating a seamless transition to the second floor.

The original staircase layout was cramped and awkward, so we introduced a modest addition that allowed for a more open, comfortable connection between levels. It not only improved movement through the home, but made the upstairs feel much more connected to the rest of the space.

The result is a place that still feels like home—but now with better flow, more function, and room to grow.
